Castiglione Falletto: our home, the home of wine

Castiglione Falletto’s history begins in Roman times and it is easy to understand its strategic motive: it stands on a 350-meter hill and dominates the territory in every direction.

But it is in the Middle Ages under the control of the Marquis of Saluzzo and specifically the Falletto family that the construction of a real quadrangular fortress characterizes its destiny. Feudal lords alternated, then France and finally the House of Savoy until the Unification of Italy. At the foot of the castle dominates our old Scarrone vineyard, with a privileged view to the southeast, then in the direction of Serralunga. Here the Barbera clusters shine in September when the veraison takes hold. A brightness that persists on the palate when the fruit has made wine.
