Barbaresco Riserva Rabajà

Grape Variety: 100% Nebbiolo

The grapes come from the single vineyard MGA 'Rabajà' in the municipality of Barbaresco. The soil is limestone-clay, with south/southwest exposure and an altitude of 235-315m approx. asl. The average age of the vines is about 51 years old, grown under the Guyot system. The density is about 5.200 plants per hectare.

Winemaking: alcoholic fermentation lasts for about 3 weeks in steel in contact with the skins, with regular pumping-over. This time includes pre- and post-fermentation cold maceration, which is done using the traditional cap method submerged. Malolactic fermentation is carried out in wood. Aged about 30 months in oak barrels.

Description: deep garnet red color. The nose is rich and delicate. Floral scents such as dog rose and violet and ripe fruit such as cherry and black cherry are perceived. On the palate is fresh and enveloping. The tannin is ripe, soft, silky, well integrated and gives the wine good structure and great elegance. Long and persistent finish.
